BABY PHOTOGRAPHY

Session Info

Sue Kennedy Photography specialise in relaxed, baby-led photography. During your portrait session, I will aim to create a beautiful story of what your baby is like at this stage of life, and the closeness and love that you have for them.

I encourage both parents to come to the photoshoot as it’s wonderful to include the two of you in some of the photographs.

It’s a really lovely experience for you both and those are some of the photos that will be so important to your baby in years to come.

To be present when your baby is having their photos taken is incredibly moving.

When you return to the studio for your viewing appointment the following week.

You’ll be shown your portraits in a full cinematic display and will be welcome to choose your favourite portrait from this selection.  Should you also wish to purchase any further portraits or wall art  – this is when you will have the opportunity to do so.

Be prepared to LOVE a lot of them – they are going to be amazing!

One of our most popular products is a storyboard frame containing multiple photographs from your session.

The nine in one shown costs £795 and comes with matching digital files.

Booking In

Portrait sessions take place Tuesday to Saturday in my Harlow studio. Please use this link to schedule your appointment.

Once you have chosen a session time that works for you, I will be in touch with some great tips about how to dress your baby and how to get the best from your photoshoot.

This post will give you some great advice on the best age to take your baby’s portrait.

Booking must be made for sessions that take place before Thursday 5th October 2023 and your baby must be under 18 months old on the day of your photo session.

“I took my 11-month-old. She was amazing!! She made us both feel really welcome.”

How we work

Where do photoshoots take place?

At my studio in Parndon Mill, Harlow, Essex, CM20 2HP. Parking is plentiful, and full directions are sent with your booking confirmation.

WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR/BRING?

When you are booked in – we will send you more information on clothing, however, if you look through our website and our socials you will get a good idea of what styles work best in our studio.

Generally, we recommend that families wear similar colour tones – for example – everyone in neutral colours or everyone in lighter colours or everyone in darker colours.

Bring a simple body suit or dungarees for baby.

Please try to avoid clashing colours, stark contrasts and bold patterns to achieve the best look.

How much does it cost to purchase photos?

…. I know we’ll love more than one.

Yes – you will absolutely love a lot more on the day and most families struggle to choose less than 10 as they love them so much!

Our portraits start at £125, and we have collections that go to £2000 – most families tend to budget around £500 to £1500 for their portraits if they are choosing something substantial.

You will have your print, and we highly recommend that both parents (if applicable) attend this session to decide together.

You can settle the balance in full with cash or card at the viewing appointment, or spread the cost with interest-free payments over 3 months.

WHEN CAN WE BOOK IN FOR?

Our booking calendar will show you all the available sessions – mostly these are on weekdays, though we do offer 1-2 Saturdays a month currently.

The portrait session must take place by 5th October 2023 and your baby must be under 18 months old on the day of your photo session.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN COME ALONG?

As our studio is quite small, we recommend that 4 or 5 people is the most we photograph at once.

Can we just get the digital files?

We are a full-service studio – this means we create finished portraits of the highest quality that you will be proud to show off in your home.

We are however more than happy to add on the matching reprintable files – they are included in many of our collections at no charge,  and can be added on to individual portraits for a small price on the day should you desire.

WHat if someone is ill?

Please let me know so that I can offer a suitable alternative appointment. I understand how easily little ones pick up bugs.

As much notice as possible is appreciated, but I know this isn’t always how it plays out.

WALL ART AND PORTRAIT BOXES

TELL YOUR VISUAL STORY

Most clients opt for wall art, either as a single photograph or a collection of photographs together in a frame for their wall at home. Those that do not want to hang wall art have the option of filling a portrait box with their favourite photos. A final option is a combination of the two, perfect for when it’s just too hard to choose. All options come with matching digital files to make sharing with family easier.

Art For Your Walls

Display your favourite photo or a collection of photos on your wall at home. Hanging portraits at home is a great way to show your children how important they are to you, and they become more of a talking point as they grow.
